I’m excited to finally put up some of our favorites from Cate’s bridal session that was featured on Magnolia Rouge last month! (Check out their post here.) The mountains around here never cease to amaze me, but the bride and gown are just as stunning. The beautiful lace dress has now been down the aisle through three generations, having been worn by Cate’s mother and grandmother before her.

“The mountains are calling and I must go.”
I love photographing people. They turn a great setting into something more. All of a sudden their story is introduced into the surroundings in a way that adds a vibrance and life to the image…their depth, their joys and pains, all of the mystery that lies within each other and within ourselves is now held within the image and because of that I can see myself in that place, in their shoes. (Ok, maybe a little too philosophical there.) That said, it isn’t often that I photograph nature on it’s own, but on our trip to Alaska with the family I made some exceptions. (Yes, I did throw together an impromptu couple session on the mountains above Juneau…but really, who wouldn’t?)
